What is your opinion about the legalization of abortion?

First, I think only women should answer this question because it is a decision that doesn’t concern men’s opinion. Why this? Well, easy, because it is our body. We are the ones who suffer 9 months with something inside and we are the ones who suffer a lot of changes in our bodies. Also, it never should be mandatory have a baby. Not every woman is ready to have a baby.

What is your opinion about violence on television?

 I think it is not a bad thing that shows us the reality of some things, but in our country it is    a real problem. The only thing that the news shows us is violence, robberies, assaults, death, and students beating cops (and they not show us the opposite). They have to show us the reality of a lot of things like the corruption of our government.

What is your opinion about having an exotic pet at home?

From my experience a person needs to have three things to have an exotic pet at home: Space, time and resources.  I had a hedgehog a few years ago, her name was Wacala. At first she was shy, that´s the reason why I say a person needs time, and I have to clean every day her home and have a good place where she could run in a freeway. It is a big responsibility.

What is your opinion about recycling?

It is a very good start when a person wants to start to make a change for the environment. That´s why we can recycle everything: Bottles, plastic, glass, fruit and vegetable peels, clothes, and much more. But the real change it is not in here. It is in the consume of meat. Why is that? It is because one of the big industries that contaminate a lot it is the livestock industry.

Friends

                               

My best and closest friends are from the school. I meet them when I was 7 years old and since that we are inseparable. All of us are very different: Personality, tastes, the kind of music that we listen, the kind of movies we see, our style, the career that we are studying and more. I think that is what makes us very close, because despite all our differences we have never separated from each other. We do a lot of things together: We went to the South, we go to the disco, we meet in one house and we just talk and laugh. The next weekend we will go to the beach, because of the birthday of one of my friends. We will go on the car and we are 8! I don't know how we will get in the car, but it will be funny. Also, I have my university friends. The most closest are Javiera, Ricardo and Maicol. We meet on the first semester of the first year and just like my other friends we are very different from each other. But we have one thing in common: We are much stressed people jajaj. I have other friends on university, and with them I like to play cards, smoke cigarettes while we talk about anything.

Global Warming

When I start to think that I have to write about a particular global challenge, I find it simply impossible, since there are many challenges that must be overcome together to create a significant change. Such as inequality, the advancement of technology, increasing poverty, killings and much more. However, there is something that should concern us all equally as this depends on our existence on earth: Global warming. Many people say that this is a myth, however it is a reality that must be faced: The first Islanda glacier was declared extinct less than two weeks ago, the Amazon is catching fire, according to a ONU report we only have 30 years left of life, many species of extinct animals, water scarcity, increasing population in various countries, polluted seas and rivers and much more. There is no need to continue giving examples to prove that we are in a critical situation where it is our responsibility to become aware of our actions and do something about it. Many people ask: What can I do? And the answer is not simple, however if there are things to do:

1) Decrease meat consumption. This is something fundamental since the livestock industry is the main pollutant of the atmosphere and water scarcity.

2) Use the bicycle. transport does not pollute as much as the previous point

, it is an important factor if you want to make a change. Instead of using the car for nearby places, you can take your bike or walk.

3) Recycle. This is a measure that is taking shape in many places and prevents garbage from ending up in landfills and unwanted places, seriously affecting the ecosystem.

4) And finally: Disseminate the information. It is always good to tell a friend or perhaps a family member about the catastrophe that the environment is experiencing at this time and that it is essential that this be made aware.

My Favourite Concert

I have been to five concerts, and the best one has been that of the English band "Arctic Monkeys" It was in November 2014 and I bought the ticket approximately six months before, because they are my favorite band and I did not want to go without seeing them.

In addition, before the Arctic Monkeys show he played a very famous band called The Hives, which I also like very much, so I enjoyed the concert twice. The atmosphere was very good, many people feeling the music and living it, since that was a unique moment.

Being a rock band, people were very exalted and I saw too many people fainted.

I felt that the concert lasted a couple of minutes, since it was an extraordinary moment where I sang freely without fear that my voice would sound horrible, I danced until my feet no longer gave and I took a couple of photos for the moment. I was not filming with the cell phone all the time, because we had to live the moment!

I have to mention that the next day I woke up without a voice.

A place I would like to visit

Since I have remembered, it has always struck me to know Nordic countries, especially Scotland. This because of its culture, its history, its landscapes, the music and the people.

I discovered the Scottish culture because of the books written by Dianna Gabaldon, and then, these books became a very popular TV show.  

Then I started to investigate about the history and I discovered something about that country that I really really like to visit: The castles. There are a lot of castles in Scotland: The Duart, Edinburgh Castle, Strome Castle and a lot more.

So, if I go someday to that country, I will take a lot of pictures of the castles, I would like to hear the music on the bagpipes while a Scottish person is dressed with a nice Kilt and just walk on the streets meeting people. But I have a problem with that country: I do not like the food that they eat. The main course contains: Lamb lungs, lamb heart and lamb liver. I think that is very disgusting.

Evaluation of the Blog Experience

Never before had it been written in a blog, until I took the English III branch. It has been very entertaining, since I always try to relate what they ask me as close to reality as possible and in great detail, such as my favorite things: food, film, photo, and more. When I see the subject of the blog, I do not do it instantly, but I take some time to think about what I'm going to write, how I'm going to write it, what details I'll add and the structure it will have, that is, what I'll say at the beginning and at the end of each post. When the teacher said that we had to make a blog, the truth is that my first thought was "that boring", since I thought it would be blogs alluding to the content of the classes, the grammar, the tests and all that, and the truth is that I was surprised that blogs were about everyday things that I like to write about. I also like to learn more about my classmates because all blogs have something fun about them and unique.

My Favorite Food

It is very difficult to write this, since all the meals I like, but when I think about what I want to eat at any time, it is pizza. But, to tell the truth, I only like pepperoni pizza, the others I find very bad taste.

I think it's very popular because they sell it everywhere: One leaves the subway and there are people selling pizza, in the mall's, in the food courts and it has many great and famous brands that make the best pizzas, such like Melt, Papa Johns, Little Caesars and more.

I also think that it is to everyone's taste since there are different flavors: With tomato, cheese, ham, pepperoni, pineapple (I think this is the most bad combination), meat and even vegetarian.

There is also an accompaniment to the pizza that I love, and it's the garlic sticks. They are not expensive and in a box they come 10!

I should not do it, but every week I buy garlic sticks for myself and my friends, since there are many pizza joints near my university.

And a personal opinion, I think the secret of a good pizza is in the dough more than in the ingredients.

Pollution in the city of Coyhaique

A long time ago I began to investigate pollution in Chile, since it is an issue that concerns us all. While researching, I found a report from the World Health Organization, where the city of Coyhaique led the index of the most polluted cities in the world. This surprised me a lot, since I never saw in the news that this topic was discussed (which is very important)

Because of the interior I began to investigate why Coyhaique is very polluted and I found different causes, such as: The wood used to heat their homes, the poor quality of the house, public transport is very old and more.

The government took charge of this by implementing decontamination plans and giving citizens money to buy a better quality wood to heat their homes, however the plans do not take effect and the money that was given to the people spent it in food, clothing and other things unrelated to the care of the air.

This topic is interesting since it is everyone's job to have good air quality, and the most important question is, what can we do about it?

Career-related Website/App Review

In the vast majority of my fields are included many laws: I have to know the bills, quote the articles of the constitution, know the changes of law in recent years, know how the laws are intertwined with the constitution, and more.

To carry out all these tasks, the page "Ley Chile" is perfect.

It is always up-to-date and you can find all the modifications that you have suffered. Also, on one side of the article you are looking at, you can see what other law connects the article. This is very useful to understand globally how all the laws are intertwined with each other.

One of the disadvantages of the website is its format. When you first start to occupy the page it becomes very difficult, since not everything is marked and has many confusing tabs.

In addition, the page not only focuses on showing you the laws, there are also other functions such as statistical reports, the history of the political constitutions of our country, current and past political parties, books and brochures on political history and more. 

My Favorite Writer

My favorite writer is Gabriel García Márquez. He was born in 1927 and died in 2014. His style is characterized by magical realism, and his most famous book is "100 años de soledad" is the most representative book of this literary genre.

Also, it is my favorite book. This tells the story of six generations of the Buendia family, who resides in Macondo. The story contains wars, romance, incest, religion, reflections on how we live our lives and much more. It is written in an unconventional way, where it starts in the middle of the family's history, then continues with the beginning and ends with the end of this family. The final message of this book is that in 100 years no member of this controversial family in literature ever knew how to love.

Other well-known books are "crónica de una muerte anunciada","el amor en los tiempos del cólera" and "el coronel no tiene quien le escriba"

All about the symmetry

Of all the things I like to photograph, churches are my favorite. They are always symmetrical, they are clean, they are silent, their crystals are magical and they are all different and perfect in their own way.
The church in the photo, is from Frutillar, this year I toured part of southern Chile, like Puerto Varas and Chiloé. However Fruitillar was my favorite place, it was colorful, the people very friendly, the streets full of joy and everywhere they were selling hot chocolate.
That day I was walking along the lake, there was sun and there was a wind and Scottish music was playing that was being played by a man. At that time I saw the church. I automatically took out the camera and entered. There were no people, there was only me and my camera. I remember that I took thousands of laps taking pictures and I liked the one I attached.

My Favorite TV Series

It is difficult for me to write this post, since I have seen many series and it is difficult to choose only one. Despite the above there is a series that I consider the best in the world and is called "bron broen" is Swedish, and is crime-police style. It is not well known and can be downloaded through pirated sites such as "thepiratebay". The show is about two police officers who find a body in the middle of the bridge that separates Sweden with Denmark, and they, each of their respective countries will have to work together to decipher this murder, which is not a simple crime, if not that has a critique of society. He has four seasons and they will not get more. I like this series because it does not need a great scenery to keep me attentive, and because the evolution of the main character is incredible.

My Favorite Technological Device

My favorite technological device is the camera. Since ancient times people have wanted to portray moments that seem beautiful: The portrait of the family, a landscape, flowers, great characters of history, and much more. With the camera one can preserve the most precious moments of one and relive them again: A trip, a nice day, an afternoon with friends, a sunset and even our pets.
There are also different cameras for different types of people and different types of purposes. If more artistic photos are required, it is better to buy an old camera and play with the effects, while if you want photos, the instant camera is immediately taken care of.
I like digital cameras more, since I can play with the "manual" mode and get what I want. I like to take pictures of the landscapes, this year I went through the south of Chile and I took very nice pictures.

Why did I choose this study programme?

Since I was little I knew that I wanted to help people. But I didn't know how. Not in the way that a doctor helps a patient, a psychology helps a particular person or a social assistance helps a family group. My idea of ​​helping people was at the macro level. When I turned 17 I did a vocational test to choose my career, and in the options appeared "public administration". The truth is, that I had no idea what this career was about, so I investigated and I knew it was for me. When I entered at college I was afraid that I would not like it, despite being my vocation, however, I fell in love with this career from the moment I had my first class.

I'm happy with what I study, because that was what I was looking for.

My name is Fernanda Rojas, and I have 19 years old. I am studyng Public Administration at University of Chile. 

I am a quiet person who likes to see movies and tv shows and also investigate the directors and theirs ways to make a film. 

I enjoy that because of my uncle, Carlos. He is an artist and knows everythings about art: Movies, directors, music, contemporary artist, and more. 

When I was little and there is nothing to do in our house, he put me some movies, but not any movies, he wanted me to  lern things: Important history events, camara techniques, differents kind of genders, emotions who only appears with  specifics scenes, the theory of colour, simetry and a lot of new things. 

 I enjoy that, because films are for us in every moment of our lives to makes us laugh, cry, be scared, etc.
